I began my photography journey in Washington DC back in 2015, exploring the vibrant city streets. There is an incredible amount to observe if you take the time to wander off the beaten path—slipping through the narrow gaps between buildings and venturing deep into the heart of the city to uncover scenes hidden from the average passerby. You never quite know what unexpected moments or visuals you might stumble upon. It brings me genuine joy not only to capture the stunning public artwork but also to observe and document the everyday activities of the people around me. At times, the path can be quite challenging, even risky, especially when trying to photograph unique perspectives that most will never see. Navigating this as someone who uses a wheelchair adds its own difficulties, but I don’t consider myself “disabled”—I see myself as very much “abled,” fully capable of engaging with the world in my own way.
